Royal Melbourne Hospital

Project: Royal Melbourne Hospital
Practice: Gray Puksand
Location: Melbourne, Victoria
Planex products: Linea Sliding Door Cabinet and Flox Planter Box

Royal Melbourne Hospital located in Parkville, Victoria, is one of Australia’s leading public hospitals. Currently, it is undergoing a staged upgrade with a range of new facilities. The hospital is a major teaching hospital for tertiary health care with a reputation in clinical research. The complexities of renovating a working hospital require a vast amount of coordination and project management.

Royal Melbourne Hospital engaged Gray Puksand to design and develop 6 floors for office accommodation and clinical use at 611 Elizabeth Street North Stage 1. The design narrative revolves around the key concept of ‘Humanity with Purpose’ which was derived from RMH’s core values. The design focuses on this concept by emphasising the key pillars of Wellness, Diversity and Biophilic Design.

Throughout the workspace on different levels, Planex’s Linea sliding door cabinets with Flox planters were positioned at the end of workstations providing storage, privacy, and greenery.
