Planex update : COVID-19
As the owner of Planex, I would like to quickly provide you with information on how we are responding to the current COVID-19 situation. At Planex, people will always be our first priority. Our primary concern is the health and wellbeing of all our staff, customers, suppliers and the community at large.
Response to COVID-19
As a manufacturer, we need our production staff to work from our Hallam facility so we have had to accommodate changes due to COVID-19 with the practical reality of making our products.
To this aim, we have made operational changes to ensure proper social distancing by introducing split production shifts, staggered breaks and other strategies to increase the physical space between our people.
Where possible some logistic and sales staff are working remotely.
We’ve intensified all cleaning and sanitation regimes in accordance with current guidelines.
We have briefed all our staff on best hygiene practices and issued specific COVID-19 OH&S policies for everyone working at or visiting our Hallam facility. As the situation evolves, we’ll assess these guidelines and change them as necessary to ensure we’re doing all we can to keep our people and stakeholders safe.
As a preventive measure, we’re requiring all visitors to complete and pass a health screening questionnaire prior to entering our Hallam facility. It can be downloaded here. If you answer “yes” to any of the questions, we request that you contact us to reschedule or make alternative arrangements.
This remains a fluid situation and we will endeavour to maintain best-practice to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
From a practical point of view, our current production levels and capacity remains unaffected.
We manufacture all our products locally in Melbourne (Hallam) from locally sourced and manufactured raw material (steel, powder coat material and hardware) with some of our engineered components sourced from Europe.
At this stage we have good stock levels and don’t anticipate any shortages, however this will be subject to ongoing review depending on the events developing in Europe and the spread of COVID-19 in Australia.
As an aside, please note that all our products can be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized using conventional products such as disinfectants or 70% ethanol solutions without risk of damaging the powder coated steel surface.
Thank you for your understanding and take care. We look forward to sharing with you - our suppliers, customers, consultants, friends and your families - a return to normality.
Stay safe and well.
